CALLED Church App Privacy Policy

The CALLED Church app helps our church family watch messages, take message notes, read the Bible and devotionals, share prayer requests, connect with the church and chat with their crew (small group). This policy explains what the app stores and how it is used.

What we collect

• Account details (optional): your name, email address and password. You can use much of the app without an account. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; the church never sees them. You may add a mobile number.
• Things you add: prayer requests and comments, which requests you are praying for, crew join requests and memberships, crew chat messages and reactions, message notes, Bible highlights and notes, and which devotionals you have read.
• Connect cards: when you fill out a next-step card (for example “I’m new”, baptism, serving or talk to a pastor), we receive your name, phone number, email, the steps you chose, any prayer request and notes. You don’t need an account to send one.
• Kids check-in: if you check your children in from the app, we look up your family in the Called Kids records using your sign-in email or mobile number, record the check-in (child’s first name, room, allergies the Kids team already has) and create a pickup code. Children you add are sent to the Kids team to be added to your family.
• Serve team: if you join a serve team, the app uses Called Team, the church’s volunteer tool, with the same account. What Called Team keeps (schedule, positions, team messages) is described in the Called Team privacy policy. Serve team volunteers may use the camera to scan Kids pickup passes and photograph connection cards; photos are not kept by the app.
• Notification token: if you allow notifications, a device token so we can send crew messages, prayer updates and church announcements.

How it’s used

Only to run the app and care for our church family: showing your content, sending notifications you’ve allowed, and letting our Connection and Prayer teams follow up with you. We do not sell your information, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.

Who can see it

• Prayer Wall: every request is reviewed by our Prayer team first. Approved requests are visible to signed-in members of the app with your first name and last initial (or as “Someone from CALLED” if you post anonymously). Requests marked “Only the Prayer team” are never shown on the wall.
• Crews: crew chats are visible only to members and leaders of that crew and church admins. Your name is visible to other signed-in members.
• Connect cards and phone numbers: visible only to our Connection team, church staff and admins.
• Message notes, highlights and Bible notes: private to you.
• Kids check-ins: visible to the Kids team and church admins.

Where it’s stored

Data is stored securely by Google Firebase (Google Cloud) in the United States and encrypted in transit. Sermon videos are played from YouTube and are subject to YouTube’s privacy policy. Scripture text is provided by Bible publishers’ services (Crossway for the ESV, Tyndale for the NLT, API.Bible for the NIV); only the passage requested is sent, never your personal details. Online giving opens Tithe.ly in your web browser and is covered by Tithe.ly’s privacy policy.

Children

The app is intended for adults and teens 13 and older. Children under 13 should not create an account.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time in the app: tap your picture on the home screen, then Delete my account. This removes your profile, notes, highlights, prayer requests and crew memberships.
